Ice Cream Delight
I don't share many recipes on this little blog of mine. (In fact, have I ever shared ANY?!) Probably because I'm a bit of a disaster in the kitchen. (Remember this post?) I can't really cook, and when I make a valiant effort to do so, I tank. I bomb. I fail. I flop. I am definitely a work in progress. Cooking well is my Everest, and I am determined to summit!
Luckily, I have help. A dear friend of mine has a scrumptious recipe blog, with some fairly easy and delicious recipes--a few of which I have tried to tackle. Another dear friend gave me the Pioneer Woman's cookbook for my birthday. (Do you know Ree? Don't you just LOVE her?!) These talented women are like my Sherpas, and one day I'll get there! I'll "scale the rocky face" of "making a rue." Until then, I'm starting slow and keeping it simple.
For example...
I recently created my very own delightful dessert. It is super easy to make. My recipe (har, har) only requires two ingredients! Two! Easy peasy.
First, you need a carton of vanilla ice cream and those sinful "Berry Burst Ice cream" Oreos. (A hilarious friend of mine once expressed her sentiment for those cookies perfectly: "They are so good I swear they're made in Satan's kitchen!" HA!!) They are wicked good, y'all.
Next, get a big bowl (you'll want a big bowl) from your cupboard. Place two or three or six Oreos in the bottom of the bowl and mash them up with a spoon.
Thirdly, grab your ice cream and start scooping! Scoop an Everest-sized mound of ice cream into that big bowl of yours. Go "scoop crazy!"
Lastly, place two or three or six Oreos on top of all that ice cream. Mash them up with a spoon. And guess what?! You are done!
NOW SNARF IT! Oh ma gosh. It is soooooooo good. Trust me, you are going to want to try this one. It's my new favorite bedtime snack. Or breakfast. I'm certain you'll love it.
Oh...and you're welcome!

Dang it, now I have to try. Only I will add milk because my dad taught me how. Milk and ice cream is one of my favorites. Adding oreos can only make it better.

One of the highlights of this year was when I git to meet Ree Drummond at a book signing she did in my hometown. She was just as sweet in person as she seems on her blog/cookbook/tv show.
